Features of Softgels

Producing Methods of Softgels
Soft gels are mainly made of plastic materials (gelatin), plasticizer (glycerol, sorbitol, etc.), additives(preservatives, spices, shading, etc), and water.In producing softgels, filling materials and forming are conducted at the same time.

Production methods are divided into suppression method (molding method) and dropping method
1. Suppression method: First, prepare capsule material glue. Sink gelatin into distilled water until expansion. After dissolution, the expanded gelatin should be mixed with other materials by stirring until they are blended evenly. Second, make film. Take out the prepared capsule material glue, paint it on the flat plate surface until reaching the even thickness. Then heat it with the temperature of about 90 degrees. After surface water is evaporated, the soft film with certain toughness and flexibility is made. Third, press soft capsules. When producing in small scale, manual pressure pill mold suppression is applied, while in large scale, automatic rotary rolling bag machines are applied.
2. Dropping method: it is the approach to prepare soft capsules. In producing, we should take into account of the glue recipe, viscosity, the density and temperature of other liquid materials
